The last week seems to have gone so fast, and I suspect the next five weeks will go even faster. I am still fiddling with some of the details of my plans, but the broad strokes have been in place for a while now.
Flight Out
I depart late at night on Friday 21st August and fly to LAX via Sydney with Virgin Australia. Thanks to crossing the international date line, I arrive in Los Angeles not much later than I left, early on Saturday morning.
Disneyland Anaheim
While staying in an official Disneyland resort would have been nice, starting at $300 a night plus tax puts them a little out of my price range. So I am staying at the Tropicana Inn across the road from the parks. I am staying for five nights and have 5 day Park Hopper tickets to Disneyland.
Boston
On Thursday 27th August I fly from Los Angeles to Boston to spend some time with my brother James and his wife Lisa. I think there will be some touristy activities in the mix, but I'm leaving the planning of those up to my hosts.
Walt Disney World Part I
I fly down to Disney World on Sunday 6th September and am staying at Pop Century for 9 nights. I have 10 day Park Hopper tickets with the Water Park Fun & More option. I also have the free Quick Service Dining Plan for this part of the trip. I have five days of solo touring, then James will join me on the Friday.
Universal Orlando
On Tuesday 15th September we move to Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort for 3 nights. We will probably get 3 day Park-to-Park tickets but haven't bought those yet.
Walt Disney World Part II
Lisa will fly down to join us on Friday 18th September. I will probably go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party by myself that night, although depending on Lisa's flight time James and/or Lisa may join me. The three of us will be staying in a Lion King suite at Art of Animation for 3 nights.
Flight Home
I leave Orlando in the evening of Monday 21st September and fly back home via LAX and Brisbane. The international date line will work against me in that direction and I won't get back home until two days later.
So those are my mostly-booked overall plans. In the next week the operating hours for my time in Disneyland should be released and I will be able to book the last of my FastPass Plusses for Disney World so theoretically everything should be in place for me to firm up my daily plans (I am sure I will be fiddling with things right up to the last minute though).
